Root Beer

Root beer is a sweetened, usually carbonated beverage flavoured with the extracts of roots such as sarsaparilla or with artificial flavours.
No standard recipe exists for root beer, however the primary ingredients in modern root beer are filtered water, sugar, and artificial sassafras flavouring. Other common flavourings include vanilla, licorice root, sarsaparilla root, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Caramel colouring is used for the brown colour of the drink. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic traditional root beers make a thick and foamy head when poured.
