The Gold and Fleece Hotel Pub / Hotel
Venue Description
Historic Australian Country Hotel, 33 minutes from Mudgee via Windeyer Road and hill End Road. The Gold and Fleece Hotel was built in 1911 on a site of an older Inn. Windeyer was a prominent gold mining town during the mid-19th Century. Originally known as Richardsons Point. In 1859 the area was formally named as the Village of Windeyer. History articles say Windeyer was likely named after either Charles Windeyer a Sydney Magistrate or Richard Windeyer, a barrister and politician.
