A Good Beer Week event at Tallboy and Moose: Beer and coffee...brewer and barista...yin and yang. We have paired up 8 local brewers with 8 local coffee roasters to come up with unique iterations of beer brewed with coffee! Taste different coffees on their own and then try the beer that was made with them. Discuss different brewing and extraction methods with the pro’s. Get high on life (or caffeine!) and get the low-down on brewer/barista brainstorming creations. Event price includes a taster of each coffee and a 130ml serve of each beer. Beer DeLuxe's grandest of degustation dinners is an ever-evolving event and this year is no different with the addition of boilermakers! It's still very much business as usual when it comes to the beer however with only the best, biggest and heartiest on offer to be paired with both local and international spirits. The beery goodness this year is supplied by our friends at Boatrocker, Mornington Peninsula, Pirate Life, Modus Operandi and Epic Brewing Co with special guests present from the breweries for the night itself!

We are very proud to be partneting up with Good Beer Week to make Beer School bigger than ever! Whether you're a beer rookie, know your way around an imperial stout, or are looking to take your beer knowledge even higher, Beer School at the Festival Hub at Beer DeLuxe Federation Square has got you covered. Throughout Good Beer Week, beer experts and special guests will take you on an adventure covering everyone from cheese pairing, to barrel ageing, to sensory training sessions. There'll be masterclasses with international brewers, insights from some of Melbourne's finest chefs and producers, and a chance for everyone to discover something new. STKBB and Boatrocker Brewery are getting frisky with the brisket at St Kilda Burger Bar this Good Beer Week Head Chef Paul Tyas has crafted a melt-in-your-mouth chilli and chocolate braised brisket and placed it between two buns, creating the STKBB Boatrocker Brisket Burger, The Wilson. Paired with the freshly launched Boatrocker Stout, this burger is available throughout the duration of Good Beer Week from STKBB, located in the Grosvenor Hotel drive-thru at 10 Brighton Rd, St Kilda East. There's a little pocket of delicious craft in Richmond along North Street... have you discovered it yet? We're joining forces with our neighbours Maker Fine Coffee and Phillippa's Bakery for a delicious Craft Crawl on North Street. Visit each venue and learn from the brewers, roasters and bakers in this interactive and hands-on event before finishing up at the Goat Bar for a few beers, nibbles and a take-home gift. Tickets are $49 including booking fee and are available from the Good Beer Week website.

Discover the tricks and tips to get your pics noticed. We will host sessions of advice from a professional sharing their top tips to make your beers look good in any light. Focused on phone photography for social media sharing, the day will include 2 sessions with the photographer, lunch, social media tips and discussion plus a social drink and chat to finish up with Weather permitting we may head out and then join together for lunch at the brewery (which will be grammed) and beers. The day kicks off in the heart of Melbourne in Fed Square (with a bus also leaving from Bad Shepherd Brewing Co. in Cheltenham) where you’ll be picked up and taken to visit KAIJU Beer & Exit Brewing (The Dandy South Massive), Dainton Family Brewery, Bad Shepherd Brewing Co., Wolf of the Willows Brewing and Boatrocker Brewing Co. To finish off the Day you’ll be dropped off at the Terminus Hotel for a post brew day party with beers from all the breweries, DJs, and all the brewers to party on into the night. Your ticket gets you a place on the bus, lunch, beer tastings at all of the breweries and a couple of drinks on arrival at the Terminus. The bus departing from Bad Shepherd will return you back to the brewery in Cheltenham from The Terminus that evening so you can get home safely!

"A tweet lured me to Turkey initially – an image of young women laughing in the street and the Turkish words #direnkahkaha, meaning #resistlaughter. It was one of thousands of tweets posted by Turkish women to protest comments by the country’s then Deputy Prime Minister who said women should not laugh in public. And it found me, 16,000 kms away." "I went to Turkey to learn more about these women and connect with them. Tentatively beginning to call myself a feminist at the time, I wanted to celebrate their efforts and add my voice to theirs in the face of media censorship and marginalisation." Through necessity of timing, Resist Laughter considers the influence of Government actions and rhetoric on everyday experiences of women in Turkey – on the street, in families, at home, in personal relationships – as told to Alana from those fighting for equality.
