Monk Beer School - Sour Beers

Sooooooooooo, how is it that 'Sour Beers' have emerged a staple feature of our craft beer scene, where a handful of years ago there were none. In a nutshell, it is because there is a whole other palate to work with (perhaps why they are increasingly appealing to females!?) and because they can be so incredibly refreshing. 'Sours' carry a completely different flavour profile than the typical 'malty-bitter' continuum of most beers and the flavours are often unique and surprising, most especially when fruit and/or spices/herbs come into the mix.
