Sweet Stout

Description

Sweet stout is a stout containing milk sugar (lactose). The lactose, which cannot be fermented by beer yeast, adds a sweetness and body to the finished beer. The result is a dark, sweet and rich stout, with coffee and chocolate notes. It is very dark brown to black in colour.
The flavor tends to be slightly roasty, with notes of coffee, chocolate and caramel. Its roastiness is like dry stout, but much fuller and sweeter.
