Quadrupel

A Quadrupel is a Belgian style ale, inspired by the Trappist brewers. This full bodied beer has a bolder flavour compared to the Dubbel and Tripel styles and is usually dark in colour, although this can range from amber to dark brown with red hues. It is characterised by caramel and malty sweet flavours, with medium-low to medium-high hop bitterness. Quadrupels are sometimes referred to as Belgian strong dark.
