Carwyn Cellars - Bar
From the outside, apart from a few tables out on the footpath, you’d barely even know it was there. But in 2014, we launched our biggest project to date in the space behind the shop. The bar features 20 taps - usually 18 craft beers, a cider, and our house-mixed Negroni - along with one of the biggest selections of whiskies in Melbourne, some of our favourite wines from the shop by the glass, and a hand-picked selection of small-batch spirits. Not bad for a renovated storeroom. The philosophy in the bar is the same as the shop. We work hard to showcase the best producers from Australia and all over the world. From stouts to sours, and IPAs to saisons, the taps are rotating constantly, and none of them are under contract, so you won’t ever see anything here from the big boys. With at least one or two tap takeovers a month, even the most hardened beer nuts will usually find something new to try.
