Beer Deluxe - Hawthorn
It is believed that the suburb of Hawthorns very name was coined during a conversation involving the colonys first lieutenant-governor Mr. Charles La Trobe, who remarked that the native shrubs in the area resembled delightful Hawthorne bushes. We at Beer Deluxe firmly subscribe to the theory that such discussion could only have taken place over a couple of cold ones, and as a consequence pledge to uphold Hawthorns rich beer tradition for years to come. Once any lingering bar ghosts are exorcised (our grand 19th century building is called The Undertaker, after all) and the first kegs are tapped in early August, Beer Deluxe remains wholly committed to establishing itself as one of Hawthorns most prized licensed venues.
