Proudly presented by Our Friends Electric, Young Henrys, Monkey Shoulder & The Lockhearts Saturday the 3rd of February will see the third annual Old Mate’s Block Party take place at the Factory in Marrickville. The festival was started by The Lockhearts as an alternative to complaining about, and a means to disprove the jump-the-gun music journalism constantly crying wolf to the alleged death wobbles of Sydney’s live music community. A festival to unite music fans and show them a collection of bands The Lockhearts hand picked personally. A festival to get people involved in the local music scene because… they think it’s rad. Fast-forward two years and whilst the hurdles are still there, the results are well in! The festival has successfully sold out two years in a row and many punters have found their new favourite bands. The Lockhearts are avid live-music goers and as a result have seen (and played with) some banger bands in 2017. Impassioned by the quality kicking on about the place they've decided to throw this party again to showcase the ludicrous talent Australia has waiting in the wings, the sound of the underground. It is an event we have had in our mind since the first time we tasted The Mountie. What if by some chance we could ever get Founders CBS in kegs and we could actually have a locally made Bourbon BA Imperial Stout (Old Money) and a local made Maple Imperial Stout (The Mountie) to pit up against the world famous Founders KBS (Bourbon BA Imperial Stout) and the ever elusive Maple Imperial Stout (CBS). While Summer traditionally can run longer than February, and with the run we've had thus far who know's hot long it will remain hot for. However all good things must come to an end, particularly when your brewers follow a seasonal brewing calendar. The Imprints are back at The Brewery!! The Imprints are an Australian live electronic music duo consisting of Willow Stahlut and Linden Lester. Armed with a violin, synth and various FX pedals, Willow creates deep sub bass lines and weaves a melodic tapestry beautifully complemented by Linden’s visceral energetic approach to the drums. Playing together for six years, the duo has honed their signature sound, a kaleidoscopic burst of psychotropic dance music. Their use of layering and build-ups to intensify the hefty bass drop has festival crowds buzzing. They’ve toured extensively performing at festivals including Glastonbury (UK), Boomtown (UK), Fusion Festival (Germany), ArtsWells (Canada), Katuaq (Greenland), Falls Festival (Australia) and Luminate (NZ). They have collaborated with fellow Australian artists including Greg Sheehan/Bobby Alu and Mal Webb. Individually they have worked with artists including The Cinematic Orchestra, Opiuo, Goldfrapp, Adalita (Magic Dirt), Blue King Brown, Little Birdy, Ainslie Wills, Yasmin Levy and The Bombay Royale. We're coming to town for some fun with a special Festival Beer, looking forward to seeing some of our city friends LITTLE RED RYEDING HOOD RYE IPA 6.5% The big bad wolf would be happy smashing this beauty. Loads of malted rye gives great mouthfeel and bready flavour. Hops from Australia and abroad provide lots hops for the nose and pallet. Ruby red in color with a white head.

Otherside and Pirate Life Djs face off on the decks while The Collective serve up some delicious meaty specials. On the taps we will have 5 beers from each brewery including all your faves and a few special additions!!

Brewery favourites InBocca have been dishing up Italian Street Food across Sydney's brewery scene for 2 years now and we are stoked to have them return to Shark Island. This ain't no spaghetti and meatballs. Think salted pork, arancini balls and deep fried lasagne cubes. Not to be missed. Inbocca Serving from midday until 5pm (or until SOLD OUT). FREE SHOW: Friday band night at The Unicorn is back! After a crazy debut night with local garage lords Los Tones and Nick Nuisance & The Delinquents - we're stoked to be coming back at you for round 2. In the headline slot this time we have our face melting best mates Totally Unicorn who will be taking names and bringing the party like only they know how to do. It will be one the last chances to catch the boys before they head across to Japan for complete domination. Opening up proceedings for the night is local experimental synth trio Gravel Pit., converging their love for 80’s sci-fi movie scores, punk rock and electronica. You ain't seen nothing like these guys before. Young Henrys will once again be doing a tap takeover with some sweet specials running all night to keep y'all hydrated while you enjoy the tunes. So prepare thyself for another hot blooded night of music, good food and cold beer.

The Traveller Toast and Tap Food Truck are hitting up the bar this Saturday from 3pm with their awesome Homestyle Jaffles and Beverages! We will be returning to original hours this month and will be opening up the bar from 2pm-8:30pm on Saturdays. Cheers and Beers!
