JC Clapham: Humpty Dumpty Daddy
The Nest (Two Birds): 136 Hall Street, Spotswood, VIC
23/11/2017 19:00
Come down the Nest and join us for a good laugh while we raise funds for Movember.
Comedian JC Clapham will be performing Humpty Dumpty Daddy - a heartwarming and candid reflection on how a father's suicide made his son a real man.
A personal and often-amusing story delivered with candour and a wry smile, this is a raw and honest reflection on fatherhood, mental health and the tradition of amusing storytelling between generations of men.
A native of Melbourne in his mid-30s, JC is a newly-divorced father of three reaching that point where he’s wondering what the devil it’s all for. Is working your arse off and never reaching the end of your ‘One Day’ list really living? Surely not…
JC speaks and writes very openly about his quest to maintain a healthy life and mind, and is working on comedy as both a writer and performer. Humpty Dumpty Daddy is his first solo show, and has already enjoyed critically-acclaimed seasons in Melbourne, Adelaide and Darwin.
Tix $20 available online or at the door.
All proceeds of ticket sales to this event will be donated to the Movember Foundation. Plus the bar will donate $1 for every drink sold on the night.

“A self-taught saxophonist, pianist, singer, and producer here to give an old soul sound a fresh new take in today’s hip-hop climate.” – Vibe
Woolly Mammoth, Astral People & Noisey are proud to present the Australian debut of Masego, and are thrilled to announce that he will be supported on the night by another multi-talented singer, our own Tiana Khasi.
--------
A multi instrumentalist whose talents traverse across genres but can best be described as a fusion of Trap, House and Jazz. Early on, his soulful singing and jazz personality coloured every track and heart, catching the attention of producers including Kaytranada and Sounwav as well as KRS and Medasin.
In early 2016, Masego joined up with Medasin to release The Pink Polo EP which began as a collection of tunes from jam sessions with friends. The EP was first released on Soundcloud but eventually trickled onto all major streaming services, with some tracks receiving more than a million plays. In June 2016, Masego released his debut album, Loose Thoughts, which features a bunch of lively singles, developed songwriting and his beloved saxophone.
Masego's music and live performances have a distinct personality and are always adorned with a smile. Making his Australian debut this November, don't miss your chance to catch Masego live.

Feral TUSK Day at The Beach Club Collaroy
Feral Brewing Company: Arlington Hall, 1058 Pittwater Road, Collaroy Beach, NSW
23/11/2017 15:00
The ugly beast has reared his head one last time this year for TUSK DAY 2017.
This release weighs in at 10.8% and will be tapped at 4pm until the keg runs dry. Squealer & Growler fills available 10am-10pm daily while stocks last.
As always, this Imperial IPA is nothing short of gobsmacking. Carefully crafted by using a metric tonne of hops, he charges at you with insane hop aromatics, leaving an aggressive bitterness that finishes drier than most rocks.
Back in 2005, when you could barely find an American IPA brewed in Australia, Feral Brewing Company decided to release a mighty beer named TUSK. A massive 9.8% Imperial IPA that pushed the boundaries of what people considered drinkable at the time.
Deemed a menace to society, we coaxed Tusk into a deep sleep, hibernating for close to 6 years. Although distant in Brendan and Will's mind, they waited long and patiently to release Tusk from his chamber of silence.
After a few years, Tusk awoke from his slumber and is now a bi-annual release. The Feral crew are working tirelessly to move the beer across the Nulla-boar in refrigerated trucks to ensure our Eastern Coast friends enjoy a fresh drop of Tusk as soon as humanly possible.

Wild Honey - IYH Tour BNE w/Donny Love & Tiarne
Young Henrys: 454 Brunswick St Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, QLD
23/11/2017 20:00
WildHoney play the Bloodhound Bar Thursday Nov 23rd in support of their debut album 'In Your Head', out Nov 3rd on SPILLWAY RECORDS.
Wild Honey emerged onto the Australian music scene with their self-titled EP in 2016. Their debut single ‘Eye To Eye’ scored solid rotation on Triple J and the band hit the road nationally with support spots for bands like The Belligerents, Hinds and Twin Peaks. The boys rounded out the year with a performance at Lost Paradise.
The band have now announced the coming of their debut album In Your Head, after spending the first part of 2017 recording with producer Jack Moffitt (The Preatures, Mosquito Coast) and mixer Doug Boehm (Girls, Dune Rats). It’s a diverse sounding album; a lovingly weaved collection of full band studio recordings, and more intimate home recordings by singer/songwriter Thom Moore (Mercy Arms). The album's twelve songs are an ode to coming of age; the days when the beach is your escape from the sound of your parents fighting, the nights you finally get the confidence to talk to the babe from your uni lecture at house party. In Your Head covers it all; overcoming hang ups and hangovers at the same time. Opening with a strong statement of intent, single 'Break Away' makes it clear from the first strum that Wild Honey are determined to forge their own path. What follows is a journey through self-realisation ('Messed Up'), loss ('Guardian'), motivation ('Pull It Together'), reflection ('Supermarket’) and the life that goes by in between. With nods to a range of diverse influences including Crowded House, The Go Betweens and The
Cars, the record showcases the band's impeccable vocal harmonies and jangly guitar addiction throughout.
‘Break Away’ and ‘Messed Up’ are available now independently via iTunes/Spotify. The full-length debut LP ‘In Your Head’ is due for release via SPILLWAY records Friday November 3, 2017.
