Head down south for a weekend of muddy obstacle racing and experience a side of Margaret River you never seen before! Featuring the challenging 12km Dirty Dozen course in the morning and a short, fun 5km Mud Mayhem race in the afternoon, plus the Kids Course to keep those mud cubs entertained in the school holidays - the South West Mudfest will be a combination of skill, endurance, determination, strength and GOOD TIMES. Play in the dark, thrive in the night! DARKER DAYS is a new dark beer and mid-winter festival coming to Bright on Saturday 1st July 2017, from 1pm unto 11pm. DARKER DAYS will bring together High Country producers and operators, entertainers, beer lovers and families to toast the season and welcome the return of lighter days following the Winter Solstice. This free and family friendly festival will be centred around locally produced dark beers and warming foods, along with live music and winter activities. After the sun sets, Bright Brewery’s riverside lands will truly come alive with a spectacular ceremonial burning of a giant wooden structure in the shape of the brewery’s logo. Brewers from the High Country Brewery Trail will be present to serve dark and winter beers, including Black Dog Brewery (Taminick), Blizzard Brewing Company (Dinner Plain), Bridge Road Brewers (Beechworth), Sweetwater Brewing Company (Tawonga South) and Thirsty Crow (Wagga), plus cider from Nightingale Alpine Cider (Wandiligong). The festival will also feature wine, gin and coffee, plus gourmet winter foods and treats from local producers. Come gather around the fires to make damper and to roast marshmallows and chestnuts. Hear local wordsmiths and poets tell campfire tales and maybe even a ghost story or two. It will be a full day of mid-winter fun!

It's that time of the year again where we see one of our favourite local producers release their next Brewer Series for 2017. Welcome Eagle Bay Brewing Co Cacao Stout. Winter will see the return of their Cacao Stout to the fold. Hand crafted and brewed in small batches this beer is available for a limited time only. In addition to the usual ingredients of malted barley, rain water, hops and yeast, the cacao husks from local chocolate makers down the road from Eagle Bay Brewery, Bahen and Co, are added to the mash. The stout contains Cacao bean husks from single origin farms in Brazil, Madagascar and Papua New Guinea all providing unique flavour and aroma profiles. The Brewer's Series Cacao Stout is made to be enjoyed for winter; roasty, dark and delicious. Margarita & Adrian will be down slinging Mary Street Bakery donuts. Not just any old regular donuts though, these donuts are made using Eagle Bay's Cacao Stout. Did we mention these donuts come FREE with every Eagle Bay growler or carton purchase? As if donuts aren't already getting your taste buds salivating, we will also be showing off Bahen & Co. Chocolate. Their delicious packs will be available to purchase on the day. Boatrocker Brewing Co are one of our favourite Australian breweries. It's a damn shame their beers don't make it to Sydney all that regularly - but, it does mean that it feels like Christmas when a pallet of their kegs arrives on our Oxford Street doorstep! The last Boatrocker Tap Showcase we held was during last year's Sydney Craft Beer Week where we highlighted their styles inspired by Belgian beer culture.
