We've been neighbours with Uncle Rocco's Barbershop for over 12 months now, so we decided it was time for a collaboration. Uncle Rocco's team of legendary barbers will be setting up shop in our brewery for a day of free haircuts to go with our delicious craft beer. There will also be a special launch of a collaborative ale between the boys from the shop and our resident brewers. On top of all of this, we'll have Melbourne's best food trucks and DJ's rotating throughout the day to keep you well fed and your toes tapping. Cask Off is back at 3 Ravens Brewery for Good Beer Week 2017. Since its incarnation in 2012, Cask Off has gained ‘real’ momentum and proved itself to be one of the maltiest events of the year. Wander around the 3 Ravens Brewery & Bar amongst the fermenters and barrels, drinking real ale with old and new friends alike. Pour yourself a glass (or more) direct from each cask and chat to the brewers about their creations. This year, we have brought together a selection of six local breweries that we believe are current exponents of this style (see below). The brewers will bring two different cask conditioned beers on the day. One that is more traditional in style and the other, a more wild, experimental creation. All ales will be served on "stillage"; that is the beer will be served directly from the casks to your glass, all freshly tapped by the brewers on the day. All-inclusive, this is one Good Beer Week event not to be missed! What is real ale? Real ale is a beer brewed from traditional ingredients (malted barley, hops water and yeast), matured by secondary fermentation in the container from which it is dispensed, and served without the use of extraneous carbon dioxide. It is literally living as it continues to ferment in the cask, developing its flavour as it matures ready to be poured into your glass. Getting there – Transport/parking options • Although we don’t recommend driving, if you do have a designated driver there is plenty of free parking outside the brewery. • If you decide to ride, there are numerous areas to lock up your bike. • If you know yourself too well and decide that the above two options are just down right dangerous, there will be a shuttle bus running to and from Thornbury train station both before and after the event. • Other public transport options include getting on the 567 Bus from Fairfield train station or the 552/553 bus down Dundas St from High St, Thornbury. STKBB and Boatrocker Brewery are getting frisky with the brisket at St Kilda Burger Bar this Good Beer Week Head Chef Paul Tyas has crafted a melt-in-your-mouth chilli and chocolate braised brisket and placed it between two buns, creating the STKBB Boatrocker Brisket Burger, The Wilson. Hop Nation VS The Brooklyn Brewery: THE ROOF OFF! Hosted by Heron Tower Beverages and Premium Beverages, Australia vs America see’s Hop Nation go four rounds against The Brooklyn Brewery.

Join Japan's Coedo and Melbourne's Hop Nation at the HN brewery in Footscray for a collaboration brew day! We will be brewing a specialty beer on the day combining ingredients from Japan and Australia. Guests will be able to watch and get involved with the brewers. Taste 8 x 200ml beers with the brewers from Japan and Footsray and enjoy some tasty lunch from our guest food truck. Each guest will also recieve a 1L CANimal of the finished beer sent to them! (Within Australia, valued at $30). There will be two sessions throughout the day, limited to 35 people each session. You'll see the kick off to the brew in the morning and the second stages of the brew in the afternoon session. $79 per person - includes lunch, tasting and 1 litre CANimal.

"A tweet lured me to Turkey initially – an image of young women laughing in the street and the Turkish words #direnkahkaha, meaning #resistlaughter. It was one of thousands of tweets posted by Turkish women to protest comments by the country’s then Deputy Prime Minister who said women should not laugh in public. And it found me, 16,000 kms away." "I went to Turkey to learn more about these women and connect with them. Tentatively beginning to call myself a feminist at the time, I wanted to celebrate their efforts and add my voice to theirs in the face of media censorship and marginalisation." Through necessity of timing, Resist Laughter considers the influence of Government actions and rhetoric on everyday experiences of women in Turkey – on the street, in families, at home, in personal relationships – as told to Alana from those fighting for equality.

Arbory Bar & Eatery's Executive Chef Nick Bennett alongside Chef Matt Stone from Oakridege, Troy Wheeler from Meatsmith and Chef Renee Trudeau from Gertrude Street Enoteca will collaborate in the inaugural 'Good Beer Kitchen', which will see each chef assigned to cook/demonstrate a course of lunch using a beer from one of four celebrated breweries. Guests will be treated to each of the chefs courses alongside a can/bottle from that brewery. The presenter of Eat It!
