Tour de Beechworth - Dinner with Mike Tomalaris

EAT (from 6pm) – Whether you’ve ridden or not join us for a provincial dinner between the brewery tanks. The French themed feast will showcase the best produce of the Victorian High Country. The dinner is by reservation only and places will disappear fast. Four courses of french inspired high country fare, plus a selection of cheeses to get us through the tour stage. Drinks at bar prices. Dinner guests will also be able to interact via a live Skype cross to SBS presenter Mike Tomalaris live from France. We will also be hosting two of the worlds best endurance cyclists at the dinner, 2015 Trans-Amercia winner Jesse Carlsson And the all conquering Sarah Hammond SPECTATE – Enjoy a live and exclusive Skype cross on the big screen to SBS’s Mike Tomalaris at the finish line of the final mountain stage of the Tour de France. As always we’ll have an interactive session with Mike, with a report on the Tour de Beechworth ride as well as answer all your tour questions. Then we’ll kick back with a drink and some cheeses and enjoy a cracking Saturday stage of the 2017 tour. RIDE (10am)– Saddle up for a tour of the best tarmac and gravel Beechworth has to offer. There are two recommended loops to cater for all riders. The two peaks Stanley ride, up to 40km, suitable for riders of all levels with turnaround and roll home from all points. For confident riders capable of riding 4+ hours. There’s a 80-100km loop with 1500m of vertical through the rolling hills of the region with a solid KOM climb for a refreshement break and regroup before rolling back to the brewery. Both rides are TOTALLY UNSUPORTED and are at riders own risk. Support the Beechworth Chain Gang by joining us for a refreshment (from 1pm) at the (Murmungee Lookout) KOM of the Tour de Beechworth 80-100km loop. Riders and supporters are encouraged to purchase a refreshment ticket in order to take advantage of a warm drink and some much needed refuelling after riding 1500m of vertical before the roll back to Beechworth. Your friends, family and the general public are also encourage to get here to cheer you up the final slope of the climb. Anyone without a ticket wont get any cake or coffee, it’d be a shame to miss out! All proceeds from the refreshment ticket will go to the Beechworth Chain Gang, a local not for profit MTB group who maintain the Beechworth MTB Park. These proceeds will be directed to repair and improve the new Snakes and Ladders trail at the park!
