Shapeshifter Brewing

We brew modern and experimental small batch beer. In mythology, “shapeshifting” is the ability of a being or creature to completely transform its physical form or shape. This is what beer should be all about. The ability to take four key ingredients – water, malt, hops and yeast – and transform them not into just one taste, but into many different tasting beers. The wolf is also a representation of the Latin name for hops - humulus lupulus or ‘little wolf’. The name refers to the plants tendency to strangle other plants, as a wolf does to a sheep.As a company, the name Shapeshifter has the context of shifting people’s perceptions of beer, the role it plays in society, and the brewing industry as a whole. It is certainly our intention to play a major role in the shaping of this exciting, evolving industry.
