Westmalle

Trappist beers from Westmalle Abbey are famous all over the world. The brewery produces the needs of the abbey. Beer production in Westmalle is not a purely commercial activity. Most of the sales come back to the brewery and are invested in improvements in working conditions. The monks do not brew the beer themselves, but have entrusted the brewing to external collaborators. However, they themselves always provide the general management of the brewery. The part of the income that is not used for their own subsistence is devoted to charitable works, social works and people in need.
