Franziskaner

The roots of the Franciscan Brewery can be traced back to 1363. This year, the "Bräustatt bey den Franziskanern" (Bräustatt of the Franciscans) near the Munich Residence was first mentioned. The name derives from the Franciscan monastery, which was located diagonally across the street and with which there was apparently always a lively exchange.
