Roggenbier / Rye Beer

Description

"Roggen" is German for "rye", hence this beer contains large quantities of rye. It is a medieval German ale traditionally made using a grain mix of half barley malt and equal amounts of wheat and rye malts. Roggenbiers are mildly hopped so the grain flavour dominates, and traditionally unfiltered so they are usually foamy or turbid (sometimes labelled "naturtrĂ¼b", which means "naturally turbid").

Country of Origin: Germany.
