Eisbock
Description
Eisbock means "ice-Bock", so this beer is literally an ice strong lager. The name is derived from how it is made, since an Eisbock is frozen when it is nearly at the end of maturation and because water freezes before alcohol, any ice can be removed. This means some of the beer's water content is lost and obviously increases the concentration of alcohol. An Eisbock is a more extreme version of a Bock, as it is a lot more malty and smoother than a Doppelbock.
