A porter with coffee as an ingredient. The coffee can be added in a number of ways, including adding espresso, adding cold brew coffee, or simply steeping the beans in the beer. The amount of coffee added (and the intensity of the flavours) ranges widely. Its not uncommon for vanilla, cocoa, or lactose to also be added. The dark malts of a porter already give it a coffee-like appearance, and the normal coffee and chocolate flavours of a porter are emphasised by the added coffee.
