Amber Ale

Description

Amber ale is simply pale ale made with the addition of amber, and sometimes crystal, malts. The resulting brew is an amber ale that can be light copperish to deep brown in colour. Generally, Amber Ales have a caramel maltiness and are well balanced. To get the best of the flavour they are best drunk cool, as opposed to icy cold like most Australian beers.

Hoppiness can vary - American versions are more focussed on the hops.
